Running (Running and sheep bating) 38:19 [1] 3.86 mi (9:56 / mi) +98m 9:12 / mi

Lucy and Zanthe's jogging photography company! Ran very gently round burbage taking pictures of views, sheep and mushrooms for Zanthe's architecture project!
Glad I went out - coughed up some lovely stuff but think it's done me some good!

Note

SYO club night - mini maze o and netball and Tiggy scarecrow (not stuck in the mud)

Tuesday Oct 27, 2009 #

Note

Woke up feeling a lot better today but then walked up to a lecture and chest was completely clogged - a lot of coughing later and breathing is possible again
Body doesnt seem to cope well with the transition between lying down and standing up

Sunday Oct 25, 2009 #

Note
(sick)

Struggled to eat anything overnight so failed to eat enough, also when lay down I couldn't breathe so spent the night clock watching and got about an hrs sleep.
Hard decision this morning but running wasn't really going to happen - would have been a 7hr walk if we set off and so glad we didn't now as cold has got worse and worse! I now sound like Zanthe did last monday when I banned her from circuits...

Running race 5:17:29 [3] 26.0 km (12:13 / km) +750m 10:40 / km

Well - friday went well - throat fine, looking good for the weekend...then in the evening I had some asthma troubles and by Saturday morning it was a full on cold!
So we set off and tried not to overly push it - 1st 4 controls went reasonably then it all fell apart - pretty much walked the rest - felt worse and worse but was determined to finish - 5:17:29 was a fairly dissapointing time, by number 4 we were looking at 4:20/4:30ish but 4-5 and 5-6 were horrifically slow - lost at least 20mins 5-6...then it was just a crawl to the finish!

Being a total hypocrite in running the OMM as I said I wouldn't run it ill again ever - but things change :-P
Throat got progressively worse yesterday but is getting progressively better today :-) feels like i constantly need to clear it though...
Going to see how much its going to hurt later by running down to inervals with my pack - if I can't make it there and back I suppose I shouldn't go.. need to test out the bag as I don't know how much my inov8 one is going to rub or where it's going to rub! tape at the ready to stick me back together!

NB by the time I ran throat was fine :-)

Running 36:45 [3] 4.55 mi (8:05 / mi) +106m 7:32 / mi

Run down to intervals out along to bingham, back up riverdale road and then back along fulwood with a brief stop at spar to find an alternative bit of string to attach to my zip of my bag that ive managed to snap already...
Carried OMM bag full of kit to see where it would rub and where to tape!
This weekend is going to be a struggle

Note
(sick)

Deja Vu....Throat got worse and worse yesterday - woke up at 4am because I couldn't swallow - good hour and a half before I got back to sleep.
feels slightly better today but not gonna train before the weekend now - lots of sitting still and hopefully OMM will be fine, will be very annoyed if I can't run well! Seems to be the annual OMM illness now

Tuesday Oct 20, 2009 #

Note

Woke up with a really sore throat - I'm putting it down to karaoke and hoping its not going to be a rerun of the pre - OMM wk of last year, otherwise Harold will need a replacement partner!
Can't decide whether to do hills or not...

Monday Oct 19, 2009 #

Note
(rest day)

Uni - then work for 8 hrs meant missing circuits but tht I can pay for my car tax disc! well some of it anyway...

Sunday Oct 18, 2009 #

Running race 1:40:45 [3] 12.2 km (8:15 / km)

Nav leg of FRA relays
Felt really tired after a 4am wake up call from Jon and didn't really want to run - however the minute I started running I felt really really good! Not felt this strong in ages, felt like I was cruising and had a good speed in my legs even for the runnable track where we overtook our final team of the day into the finish, sadly Helen was suffering a bit with flu today which meant I had to remember not to run too hard or I'd lose her. It was good fun run though and I am really looking forward to the OMM now :-)

Note

Last 2 times I've run off road I've developed really sore knees that evening - don't know what I'm doing different to normal...

Running warm up/down 42:33 [2] 8.0 km (5:19 / km)

Warm up and down with Zanthe and Kathy at the Road Relays

Thursday Oct 15, 2009 #

Running 1:07:33 [3] 6.5 mi (10:24 / mi) +226m 9:23 / mi

Night fell run! Remembered my torch this time! Forgot my fell shoes....aisics road shoes are not very grippy on soaked kinder ground...
Ran from Hayfield round kinder res and then back via the farms under low end - took it easy but pushed hard up a couple of hills which was made difficult by the footwear! I have missed night time adventures on kinder!

orienteering 1:00:00 [1]

SYO club night - bit of running around and fun! more ShUOC should come!

Running 10:07 [3] 1.36 mi (7:26 / mi) +44m 6:46 / mi

Run back with bag on - need to wear a buff for the OMM or the straps will rub my neck! Broomgrove road - Hallamshire - Northumberland road - Spring Hill - Charlis house - Home.
Guy who ran past while we were walking up broomgrove road didnt sound too impressed as I ran past and I could hear him putting in effort to try and pass me up by hallamshire, made me grin a bit...

Running warm up/down 30:00 [2]

Round and round and round the track - and some stides and stuff

Running 25:00 [4]

800m reps with recovery as 70 seconds after the guys finished 1600m
- so plenty of recovery..(3mins)

rep 1: 2:51
rep 2: 2:58
rep 3: 3:06
rep 4: 3:10

felt oh so much better than the last time I went to track and could barely manage 3:06 and gave up track...not far off doing 2:52 reps I was doing in 1st year... only taken 2 years to get over not proper training! No collapse after this lot of proper training allowed!

Monday Oct 12, 2009 #

Circuits - 40/20s - tried to take it easy (well as easy as you can with circuits) but felt pretty nackered still - not too suprising really...

Sunday Oct 11, 2009 #

Note

no hours training - better go and put that to rights!

Running 42:30 [2] 4.8 mi (8:51 / mi) +130m 8:10 / mi

Gentle run with Zanthe - Up crookesmoor road, through crookes, down to stables, through allotments, through field and out to manchester road then back via lydgate and school road where we saw little rob just setting off for a run!

Saturday Oct 10, 2009 #

Note

Walking to/from GIAG and round a course for an hour - absolutely shattered now....so no OMM training tomorrow....

Friday Oct 9, 2009 #

Note

Feel pretty much normal again! Just got a bit of a feeling of nackeredness - gonna have to be a bit careful with training this week - will start it with GIAG tomorrow and go from there!

Thursday Oct 8, 2009 #

Sunday Oct 4, 2009 #

Running race 48:20 [3] 4.5 mi (10:44 / mi) +442m 8:14 / mi

Ian Hodgsons - 3rd leg - set off and didn't feel too bad, until some effort was required towards the top of the massive climb, then felt horrifically sick. Deffinately not 100% today...thankfully less effort was require along past angle tarn and down the hill, but I suffered a lot running into patterdale where Alison took the lead as I thought I might have to stop!
Still pulled off a reasonable run, 1minute faster than when I last did that leg!
So glad I wasnt running with Mary or Nicole who were flying today, they would have run me into the ground.
Great result for pennine with us coming 2nd mixed team! :-)

Running warm up/down 10:00 [1]

Run to start and up and down the hill a bit

Saturday Oct 3, 2009 #

Note

Reserves have been used for hodgsons, final reserve I should stil run faster than so looks like I will be running! I officially have 18hrs to get fixed! I almost have a voice...

Thursday Oct 1, 2009 #

Note
