Note
slept:6.5 (sick)

Woke up feeling a bit rough, had breakfast and then was almost sick straight after.
Felt aweful on the minibus on the way there but didn't have much time to think when we arrived - got changed and went straight to the start.
After running felt no better - felt worse and worse all evening.

Note

Loz had a great run to come in 4th and set Laura up to chase down a couple not far ahead. At the spectator Laura was in 2nd with Anne just behind and Chloe just behind her. A tense wait at the finish, then Anne entered the field running really hard just ahead of Laura and it stayed that way to the line! ShUOC girls were 3rd! wooooo :-)
10 AM

orienteering race 30:19 [3] 4.1 km (7:24 / km) +45m 7:01 / km

ShUOC girls 1st leg of the relay - set off at a steady pace, turned out to be the only pace I could run without being sick. 1st gaffle was with Rachel Majumdar and Jess Halliday, managed to stay with them. Was running very slow but spiking everything! bit of a wobble that cost me 10s at most going to 6.... came through spectator then there were a couple of controls the same for every1 before another gaffle where I was with Mairead and Liz Bridge and Becky Hoare. While the terrain was slower I stayed with them but the last control was down a track so they overtook me and got about 50- 100m on me going into the finish. Finished in the first pack - about 5th? Jess had a great 2nd gaffle and was a couple of minutes ahead I think....
Finally I may understand the pace I should be running for a clean run hehe

Note

BUCS social - swift change into red indian outfit then off to the slug and lettuce - was feeling a bit light headed after runnning and so drank lots of water. Meant I got to watch all the drunk banter and remember it ;-)
There wasn't enough food for everyone and the only veggie option if I'd made it to the buffet in time was wedges so went out and got some food with nic and ingrid. Ingrid was funny as she hadnt eaten anything and had drunk quite a bit by this time!
EUOC beat us in the beer race! by a fraction, and according to mairead marrion we won, but the officail judge (Gaz) thought EUOC did - so we'll let them have the tankard for a year!

1 PM

Running warm up/down 15:00 [1]

Jog to start with ingrid - could feel my hip being a bit sore which wasn't the best start

Running race 1:07:36 [4] 7.4 km (9:08 / km) +290m 7:38 / km

BUCS individual - set off a bit too cautiously to number 1 and stood on top of it until Liz Bridge caught me up....should have been a bit more confident of where I was but oh well - after that made a couple of route choices that might not have been the best and wasn't quite spiking things well so was constantly loosing a little at most controls.Though looking at splits browser I had a more consistant run than a lot of people ...
Ended up running fast but felt pretty rubbish so felt slow. After the spectator control everything seemed to fall into place and I had a smooth run to the end...20th overall

Note

Felt a bit rubbish this afternoon and before I knew it it was 6oclock and I was writing a lab report - so abandoned plan of run down to and from intervals - another rest day

Note
(rest day)

Tired - hip flexors sore - bit of rest time.....(plus sylvia suggested curry which sounded more tempting than spinning today)

Running warm up/down 11:54 [1] 1.54 mi (7:44 / mi) +46m 7:04 / mi

Running (Hills) 13:26 [4] 1.3 mi (10:20 / mi) +190m 7:06 / mi

Blake st hill reps: session was 10 but I planned to do rep 1,2,3,5,6,7,9,10 (actually did 7 reps)
ran first 3 fine, legs felt it a bit more after the rest and hip was uncomfortable (wouldnt say painful, just a bit odd), did rep 9 and my hip and legs refused to do another so stopped
Felt good considering the beating I gave my legs over the weekend

Warm down down south road a bit with zanthe

cycling 14:51 [1] 5.0 km (20.2 kph)

Easy pre circuits spin - legs feeling the being forced to run all the way uphill over the weekend

40/20s - pretty nackered and hip didn't like cycling as much as running up big mountains so didn't really put lots of effort in...
