Investigating Ipswich. Along the marina then off to places I didn't know. I found 2 parks, the first was too small, the second was nice. 7 churches in 5 miles! and even found some hill...sort of

Running race 1:06:50 [3] 6.0 mi (11:08 / mi) +580m 8:34 / mi

Dockray Hartside Fell Race. Seeing as I don't get to go to the lakes this weekend and instead will be in ipswich at a conference, I had a Bank Holiday Wednesday Evening.

Was a really nice night for it, beautiful views. Was running well on the hills, diabolical for most of the downhills again and again, didn't have the racing mindset. I don't know if this was truely effort 3 but I didn't feel like I was hammering it. I was in the lead up the first hill, near the top a lady past me as I was getting my inhaler out (numpty, carried it to the start and then didn't take it. More important to remember this now its summer), lost about a minute to her and it stayed that way. No inclination to really chase her down. Coming off the biggest hill was overtaken whilst bimbling down, overtook her again on the next climb then came the real effort of the race to try and keep her off on the final descent. Fail. Getting there but still not strong enough to go all out!

Finished 3rd, 1:30 down on 1st, 30s on 2nd...Back didn't sieze up at all while running, a bit tight later on but progress!

Running warm up/down 5:00 [2] 0.58 mi (8:37 / mi)

Ran down to check how high the river was - high.....

Running 32:38 [4] 3.8 mi (8:35 / mi) +135m 7:44 / mi

Trunce - first one in 2 years. Pretty much swam across the first river, up to chest in second, hard work back across the final river crossing against the current. Non the less, second fastest trunce time ever, about 1min 30 behind PB. I'll take that as I don't know whether to log as a 3 or 4 effort as was pretty comfortable for most of it :-). Nearly had a back disaster on the final river crossing but think its ok now. Note to self, right back/hip not strong enough to push into a strong river current just yet....
