Mountain Biking 3:35:56 [2] 20.46 mi (5.7 mph) +1046m

Ride with Nick, Ben, Julia and Ruth from Castleton. Over Rushup Edge, Pennine B'way, Down to Hayfield via mt famine col and christines gate. Lunch at Rosie's caf, then up and down Jacobs Ladder, up to hollins cross and back down to Castleton.

Awesome route, its amazing what a difference a proper nights sleep made (first proper nights sleep since Mayhem....may be why I was still feeling pish yesterday), feeling normal again! Also so chuffed to ride all of Jacobs Ladder first time, on sight. One dab right near the bottom, doh!

Came 2nd to Helen Winskill which I am more than happy with given not a good day on the nav and my legs hated me. Felt pretty rough driving home and was a bit worried I'd done too much by racing so soon after Mayhem. Was umming and ahhing about whether to still go on the ride tomorrow, decided to see what I felt like in the morning

Mountain Biking warm up/down 7:44 [2] 0.53 mi (4.1 mph) +94m

Ride to the start, sore and tired legs still.

MTBO race 31:57 [3] 4.36 km (7:20 / km) +70m 6:47 / km

Lee Quarry. 2.4km straight line. Wrote this one off on the 2nd control. about ~4mins binned whilst stood on top of the blooming thing! I don't like loosing time but I like loosing it even less when I am in the right place!

Another couple of mins binned on 9 but other than that not terrible. Almost got carried away riding the single track and having too much fun at times :-)

MTBO race 36:58 [3] 5.0 km (7:24 / km) +72m 6:54 / km

Cragg Quarry. Set off well, blocking out lead legs! Also set off in a hail storm so strong I couldn't look up properly - Bacup is officially associated with hail and snow for me now!
Number 6 was a disaster, lost 4ish mins again! This time it was my nav :-P

Rest ok until number 11 I felt my back tyre go squishy.....rode light and hoped to make it to the finish before needing to change a tube, just about made it with some careful riding!

Ride between Lee and Cragg Quarry. The spin out did my legs good...or felt like it did
