Mountain Biking 1:42:22 [2] 13.2 mi (7.7 mph) +484m

MTB from staveley with Dave Spence. Round to Garburn and back through Kentmere. Some ace descending, technical rocky fun- but don't tell the bridesmaids as I'm not allowed to injure myself this week ;-)

Running 58:26 [2] 6.1 mi (9:35 / mi) +210m 8:39 / mi

Lovely evening run on the scar with Sal. Good catch up - lungs behaved (with some wheeze monitoring from Sally) and knee feeling good.

Note
(rest day)

Airways unbelievably sore. Normal things hard work. Only difference between last night and Jura is that salbutamol had some effect.

Interestingly, once the fog descended in the evening airways were immediately a whole lot better! Maybe I'm just allergic to sunshine....

cycling 1:29:32 [3] 20.6 mi (13.8 mph) +560m
shoes: Specialized Gerolsteiner

Pace line with Ant, Cat, Tori and Helen. Lovely evening, sunny :-)

Unfortunately I think pollen might be starting to appear, breathing went out of control on first climb and just couldn't get it back no matter how slow I pedalled.
Progressively worse with each climb, raw airways. Almost turned around but stupidly carried on hoping to warm up into it. Took inhaler half way and this coupled with some descending recovery made things a little better. Chest really sore and tight by the end - yet peak flow still only dropped to 89% when I got home. Should start carrying the meter with me to take it mid disaster before taking salbutamol. Can't wait to get this sorted, uncontrolled breathing rumbling on for over a year now. Appointment with specialist 10th April (was suggested I needed to see a specialist in Sheffield 8months ago - 4 weeks in Kendal and I'm referred - come on UHS).

Run onto the scar in the daylight! Planned a loop but stopped short when knee twinged. Meant I made it back without it aggravating it too much. Good to be out in the sun!
