Walking 3:10:00 [1] 8.45 mi (22:29 / mi) +1224m 15:30 / mi

Sweeping the Buttermere Sailbeck race with Lewis. Nice to be out, even in the grim conditions that developed.
Chest and sinuses a bit clogged so wouldn't have been racing anyhow.
Steady away (there were a couple of points of running after stopping to chat at checkpoints, but in general probably in the class of walk) and good company around the route.

Stopped on last hill to deposit clothes into tent with a rather hypothermic lady in. Todd gave her a piggyback down the first bit from the top (a new form of fell race to be developed?), then she got walking and warmed up a bit once off the tops. Very different temperatures on top to in the valley - always good to remember when to put a few more layers on! May in the lakes and it definitely wasn't summer conditions!

Note
(rest day)

Very broken sleep due to cough etc throat now sore and feels half closed, difficult to swallow - not a chance I'm running anywhere....

It's amazing what a difference taking a million and one drugs makes, you just don't realise at the time...only got to wait until tomorrow morning and I'll be back on the anti-histamines!

Note
(rest day)

In preparation for an asthma challenge test on Thurs I stopped taking Montelukast on Sat evening and Seretide on Sunday evening.

Today chest is really sore and tight (cough not as much of a problem as after running Sat though) - peak flow lowest it's been since I started recording it. Not sure I'll be running today....

Running 5:00 [2] 0.61 mi (8:12 / mi)

Run down to the townhall

orienteering race 52:12 [3] 6.7 km (7:47 / km) +181m 6:52 / km

Ran 9.5km

Street O round Kendal. Really good fun race, close enough to MTBO that I still remembered how to do it :-)

Not too bad technically, a couple of 30s errors and some time lost on 28 but generally thinking ahead and smooth. Probably a lot to do with slightly tired legs - although they were fine for 30-35mins, a bit sore after that...

Never pushed lungs near the red and they seemed alright although chest still feeling a bit tight.

10th, happy with that given the lack of any sort of o training in the last yr or so and heavy legs :-)
5 PM

Kayak training 45:00 [2] 3.5 mi (12:51 / mi)

Evening paddle on Windermere from WC&K - sea kayak.
