Running 2:28:05 [2] 9.6 mi (15:26 / mi) +1015m 11:37 / mi
shoes: Mudclaws 2015

Checking out the dodds with Ian - I could see them and everything (a first for me)!

It's amazing how much going slowly for 6hrs can take it out of the legs as much as doing an extra 10 miles in that time....(probably something to do with the rest of the week as well).

Direct up Calf Howe Pike - god this is a grim climb, must remember that when going up clough head as it'll seem easy in comparison! Then Great Dodd, Watson Dodd, Stybarrow Dodd, Raise and Whiteside. Ian then jokingly asked whether I still wanted to go to fairfield and was surprised when I said the only thing stopping me was the thought of the run back from the end of leg 2. We'd done the worst of the climb for the leg already! Awesome run off Whiteside.

Was hitting or exceeding my planned schedule even on dead unspringy legs which is promising. Gave me an insight into how leg 4 might feel though - who's up for some positive motivation to get me round that?

Mountain Biking 44:17 [2] 6.3 mi (8.5 mph) +140m

Couldn't resist trying out my new bike. Slippy death riding round witherslack with Wil. I need a shorter stem/bigger rise in bars and to move my saddle back, then good to go!

Hopefully will sort that before some Scotland fun on Thursday!

Running 6:08:51 [2] 12.1 mi (30:29 / mi) +1776m 20:56 / mi
shoes: Mudclaws 2015

Pat's BG leg 4 - was cutting it tight for time in Wasdale, but if he had anything left for covering ground then he was in with a shot. Effort 2 to Pillar then 1 beyond as the wheels (or rather left knee) fell off for him - bad ITB put a stop to 24hrs. Arrived in Honister with 1hr 28 to go so faced with the descent off robinson, he called it a day.

After running through torrential downpours and fog for leg 2 and some of 3, I don't doubt he'll make it next time.

Mountain Biking 2:42:26 [2] 25.0 mi (9.2 mph) +960m
shoes: Massi Carbon Pro

Completing the circuit with 2 brakes! Brathay - Claife - Up the Fox - Grizedale Visitor Centre - Lawson Park - Tilberthwaite - Challanging Climb - Loughrigg - Brathay.

Ace weather and lovely ride out with Sal and Sabs. Rode the Massi which required a bit more effort to keep it rolling up the hills (I'm out of practice on 26 wheels). Ice cream stop in Coniston en route and lunch courtesy of Brathay to finish with a lake view!

Finished the day off by buying a bouncy bike and even avoiding Wil's one out, one in bike rule! Result!

Running 2:08:15 [2] 7.7 mi (16:39 / mi) +776m 12:41 / mi

Up Helvellyn from Glenridding via Swirral Edge and back on the C2C route to Patterdale with Helen and Cat. Lovely evening and the lightning held off until we were back in Kendal :-).

Such a good way to finish a day on a school night!

Running 1:00:00 [2] 6.2 mi (9:41 / mi) +70m 9:21 / mi

Third outing of the road shoes since I bought them last Aug (though technically not on road). Exploring towards meal bank with Wil and Lizzie. Absolutely baking!

kayaking 40:41 [2] 3.5 mi (11:37 / mi)

Monday night is paddle night! Out in a carrot with Martin on his first go on a surf ski. He was motoring (faster certainly better for stability - he got that one sussed!). Lovely evening for a paddle and starting to feel like I'm getting some sort of paddling form back too!
