So me and Rachel did a thing :-)

Abraham's Tea room, the result of a new year and a new 'silly running chat' WhatsApp group.

Decided to see how far I got with this one, turns out going super steady and committing to walking the climbs steadily meant the whole way. Snow on the ground and in a cloud for a lot of 'Leg 1' over Barrow, Rowling End, Causey Pike, Sail, Eel Crag, Grisedale Pike and Hobcarten, the sun even broke through a couple of times!
Initially icy and slow, but higher up the snow froze and made going a bit easier!

Saw noone except bike support Vic for the firs 3hrs, then on Grisedale Pike people started materialising out of the mist....Saw Chris Hope on a run, and still can't work out how we then saw him again in the opposite direction to that in which he was heading.
Down to Buttermere in about 4.5hrs, tea and a quick refuel then off up my least favourite climb in the lakes, Red Pike from Buttermere. And Red Pike doesn't even count!

At least now we were a team of 4 to keep us entertained with Tom and Vic joining the fun.

Over to High Stile then came the error. Not the most efficient descent route, over ice and snow on rock. Took forever! Need to reconsider that route for any future attempts....

Eventually back in Buttermere after a total of 7.5hrs (ish) then off up the never ending Robinson, with just Rach and Tom. Run off Robinson back in a cloud and round to catbells before trotting along the lake and into town, with Vic on bike and having met a runner along the way who joined us as we seemed to know where we were going by this point!

Pizza party to refuel. A great day out, made all the better by the fact I really didn't think I would be able to go that far any more (or maybe ever again)....Cheers RFR, looking forward to collecting our golden tea cups!
