Stretching 1:50:00 [2]

The usual weekly accumulation of morning exercises: stretching, strength and balance. Tapered off on the latter two starting around Sunday; last couple of days it was only stretching.

2 PM

Orienteering 1:25:00 [3] 2.0 mi (42:30 / mi)
shoes: Yellow Falcons

Classic Champs Model Event, at Westmoreland Sanctuary (near Mt. Kisko, NY). Mostly helping Louise. Did walk one leg, #9, pretty fast and though it was complex, it was quite do-able.

Toes pretty sore from the downhills, so decide I will wear the Salomons for tomorrow's race (which worked out well).

Note
(rest day)

Left home early in the morning for the flight to Newark, followed by a rather stressful drive to Mt. Kisko.

Front of house, 2.5 loops. Sunny and cool. Did some extra exercises to warm up my knees beforehand, but they were still pretty creaky beforehand. Felt pretty decent by the end.

Running (Easy distance) 36:26 [3] 3.5 mi (10:25 / mi)
shoes: Kayano 20 Blue

Lake Ranch Reservoir. We woke up late, then decided it would be nice to get our run in early in the day, so went to the lake before breakfast. Started running about 8:25. Was hoping for a very easy run. My knees felt better than they have in a couple of weeks. Louise was running a bit faster than usual, my knees started hurting on the downhills, so started throttling back after the turn around, then stopped with a half-mile to go, using the last half mile as a cool down.
