Running (Easy distance) 34:19 [3] 3.3 mi (10:24 / mi)

Jeep trail next door. Tweaked my back (lower left, as usual) a little yesterday doing chores. Still felt good enough to do my strength exercises, but later it started getting worse and by this morning I was in considerable pain. Did lots of exercises to try to ease the pain, and they helped a little. Had planned to run today, and past experience (e.g., before the last day in WY on Labor Day weekend) suggested that running would help, so, after taking a bath, I decided to go out and give it a try. Jogged a very slow lap in the clockwise direction, just to make sure I could get around, then started my run. Slower than usual at first, then got a little faster each split without really trying, and over the last mile picked it up just a little, finishing at good clip but still holding back. My back was definitely better at the end than at the beginning, though by no means completely fine.
4 minutes slower than 2 days ago, but completely appropriate for today.
Sunny and cool but pleasant.
Splits are for two laps at a time (except for the last one), 0.44 miles:
510, 456, 447,435, 428, 420, 406, 154
