Stretching 4:00:00 [2]

The usual weekly accumulation of morning exercises. Most days managed to get close to the full set, though sometimes over more than one session.

5 PM

Orienteering (Running with map) 16:52 [3] 1.76 mi (9:35 / mi)
shoes: Salomon SC3 Bl/Bl 3

Jeep trail next door. Got out at 5:40. Had had a poor night's sleep, but a good nap around noon picked me up for the rest of the day.

Nice weather for running. Wore my new bifocals and ran with the map called "Training Map 10, near Riga Dzeguzkalns" that Tori gave me.

446, 415, 400, 349

Faster than two days ago, with less effort, and while doing some map reading.

Running (Easy distance plus) 17:31 [3] 1.76 mi (9:57 / mi)
shoes: Salomon SC3 Bl/Bl 3

Jeep trail next door. 78 degrees. Started out to just jog a few laps (legs still rather sore from Sprint-O practice on Sunday), but started feeling OK and didn't want to stay long in the heat, so made it into a bit of a speed workout.

510, 430, 408, 351

[Easy distance plus]

Running warm up/down 6:00 [2] 0.35 mi (17:09 / mi)

Orienteering 15:17 [4] *** 1.8 km (8:29 / km)
spiked:11/11c shoes: Salomon SC3 Bl/Bl 3

Mills College. Hot. Training course designed by George, ribbons hung by Francois and Marie-Josee. Started off running a little slowly, but picked it up and was running hard for the second half. Navigated very well, though, of course, there were some pretty familiar areas. Very good practice.

(2nd course to follow)
