Running (In place) 10:00 [3]
(injured) shoes: Kayanos 24 White

Still bad air outside. Decided to try running in place on my exercise mat. It was really hard on my calves. Did four segments of 2 to 3 minutes each (kept stopping because my calves were getting sore) and did some leg strengthening exercises in between (recorded in the next entry).

NOTE: the next day my calves were really sore. Won't be doing this again.

Leg strengthening 8:00 [3]

Between 2 - 3 minute sessions of running in place (and stopping because my calves were getting sore), did a variety of leg strengthening exercises, like one-legged squats, and hip flexor lifts.

Leg strengthening 11:00 [3]
(injured)

Air quality is terrible. So, indoors all day.

Did step ups on the stairs for 11+ mins. Got the heart rate up, a little bit of breathing, definitely felt later in my hip flexors.

Note
(injured) (rest day)

Bizarre day: dark from smoke until Noon, then twilight for the rest of the day, all of it red.

Greenfield Ave. After a hot tub and some morning exercises, leg felt pretty good, and given that the air quality was decent, spur of the moment decided to go on a short, very easy jog. Did the "usual" out to the assisted living place on West End and back. Hip flexor held up OK, but was a little sore later. Right knee hurt for a while after I stopped jogging (as it often does). By Noon, the air quality turned bad, so glad I got out for a little bit. Local parks are closed due to high fire danger (high winds expected). I will likely take tomorrow off from running or walking completely.

Bon Tempe. Met Rachel at the Lake Lagunitas parking lot and walked counter clockwise around the lake from there. We didn't get going until nearly 9am, and it was already close to 80 degrees. By the time we finished, it was 91. Consequently, we took our time; took considerably longer than any previous time. Even so, by the time we finished my left hip flexor felt quite worn out.

Note
(injured) (rest day)

Resting weary legs. Too hot and smoky for anything outside anyway.
