French club championships relay with the local club OrientAlp
Had a mostly good race, tried to go fast but wasn't feeling particularly strong. Made a mistake on number five, was just past the control and had a hard time matching up the contours so I circled for a few minutes before figuring it out. The rest was good.

Pretty good race navigation wise, only had one small mistake in the beginning, but it was really hot and I felt tired most of the time which sucked, I was hoping to be faster.

Another tough day, not as many mistakes but I got pretty tired and dehydrated so the second half was pretty slow. Messed up number three when Giacomo caught me... we both messed it up. Found it before him and kept going, then I thought I saw him at 5, but it was actually #6, so I tried to find 5 from 6 and completely lost myself. The contours were tricky in this area and instead of precisely trying to find it I just went in the general direction and looped around a few times. The rest was all good just slow.

I had to take a train and then walk like 40 minutes to get to the race today.... and I'm now realizing that tomorrow's race is twice the distance from the train station so it looks like I can't go. All of the club members are camping near the races... which I didn't expect because it's not that far from grenoble.

This was doomed from the beginning.... I forgot how to orienteer. My compass was messing with me (I need a new one) went down the wrong trail from the start triangle, then struggled in the green to find the control on multiple occasions. Some times I was just stupid and didn't think about where I could actually be and just assumed I was where I wanted to be.

So I went to orienteering training and the dude forgot the maps.. but I didn't hear him say that so while we were running I thought we were just doing a warm up run until we got back and everyone's like "ok see ya!" but it was nice to run around on the trails.
