In Miskolc! Actually really excited when I realized this is exactly where WOC was a while ago and I recognized the entire place.

Got dragged into going on a run by my friend on the Swiss team and the "almost no hills" were actually very big..... (for me) :p

Note
(rest day)

In Basel with Izzy and Dave (though I'm staying at Brendan S's apartment). We went to the zoo today and walked around a lot, and my legs are very very tired. Definitely not running tomorrow either.
It's nice to finally have a decent pillow to sleep on and wake up without having to get breakfast before they take it away or go get ready to run.

Orienteering race 1:07:09 [4] 6.41 km (10:29 / km) +280m 8:36 / km

Definitely had more speed in me today, however I had few mistakes. I made a stupid route choice to #3 and took the left trail: going up and back down... when there was a much flatter option. Then three decent mistakes after the map flip. One was on a hillside where I could not distinguish anything from anything and just went up and down a couple times. Another I started looking early and too high and still couldn't distinguish some contours on the map. The second to last control was going down the hill and I just went too low tothe cliff below it and had to climb back up :/

Wellllll....... There was an expected thunderstorm so anyone starting after noon either missed the race or you could go through the late start chute and get out before 12, and that's what I did. It started raining when I started. I started right after a Swiss girl but she quickly got away. I slightly passed 1&2 but not too bad. The rest was quite alright. I caught one of the other girls on the Swiss team and ran with her for a while so that was pretty great. Bad route choice to 6, then good. It had started thundering which was freaky and at 8 it got super foggy and I was freaked out so I slowed down for a minute. Then it got really effin cold and my body was numb but I wanted to finish the race. Soooooo out of the 20 people that finished I was 4th!!! BUT the race doesn't count since a bunch couldn't start :(((((((
Chase start tomorrow.
Also the terrain was above tree line so clear visibility and very rocky.

Running 4:30 [3] 0.65 km (6:55 / km)
shoes: VJ Bold Berries

My knees were not happy going back down to the bags. Because of the storm they also had to stop the gondola, so we waited in this small and very crowded building for an hour until it cleared up. Then the line for the ride was very long so many people began walking down the hill. (A 40 minute walk) (that's what we opted for)
