| Stillwater up north of Auckland. Was a reasonably good run but made a silly mistake. Followed Ross and James and was only half reading the map then we all got horribly lost and made a 10min mistake. Apart from that only a couple of 2min mistakes at the end and then my lack of running strength.
Lots of tough running in long grass and through thick ferns. Course got cancelled due to the first control being incorrectly placed and a large section of windfall not being marked on the map but the best route went straight through it. |

| Hedley Rd map up near Helensville. Went okay but made two big mistakes and then lost motivation at the end. Pity because the terrain wasn't too hard. |

| 9km race at Aramiro with 500m+ climbing. Was going well on the first 5 controls then lost 6mins on the next one due to a stupid mistake. Was running along a track and just lost concentration and then left the track at the wrong point. Made a 5 min mistake a wee while later when I didn't read the map 100% correctly. The first map was fun but after the map swap I lost a bit of motivation and ended up walking lots more of it. Was feeling a bit tired today and really struggled to push myself and my time reflects that. Enjoyed the last 6 controls where I was racing another guy, picked up the pace a bit through here. |

| Loops race at Kairangi. Just an open farmland map with little pockets of bush. Was good running training, easy navigation maybe orange level. Tired me out a bit I think and I managed to get a blister on my little toe. |

| Sprint race at Waikato Uni. Really nice map. Made a big mistake going to #1 and lost a minute. Then a couple more mistakes lost me another minute. Was 5 mins behind winner.
Lost a bit of motivation after stuffing the first control but still enjoyed it. |
