Practicing on the treadmill in the project lab. 7m30s at 7kph+8kph+9kph+10kph, then 5m at 11kph+12kph. Good start, but stll dislike these contraptions.
This was a very enjoyable long run in the snow at about intensity 2/3. Down to the old railway line, out to Rosewell (brief stop to chat to Carnethy HRC), down into Roslin Glen past the landslips that have closed the road, then past the old gunpowder works and back up onto the railway line. Home via the railway and paper shop. Winter wonderland all the way.
Tried a stiff running test on the treadmill in the lab. This was a hopeless failure! I'm not used to running on a treadmill and had no confidence. Some practice is called for, and then another go at the test.
Longish run round to hilly paths by the stream in Lowry's Den woods, then 5x3min clockwise and 5x2m50 anticlockwise round the hill loop - short, steep ascent took longer. Run home round by St Kentigern.
Long run from home, through woods and farm to Pentlands, loop through deep snow across to Silverburn, down into Penicuik Est, another loop into Penicuik and then up the hill back home. Nice run in the snow.
