There has been a dramatic jump in temperatures this week in Toronto; the late afternoons have hit 26-28 C. I decided to go for a late evening run, when the temperature had fallen to 19-20 C. Even still, I was a sweaty mess by the end - the dew point is around 12 C. I saw a skunk by the eastern edge of Mt. Pleasant cemetery.

There are muscles in my butt that are tight, and I believe it is a combination of questionable ergonomics and running, as biking doesn't seem to aggravate it. My flexibility in the seated twist stretch has decreased significantly over the past five years, and those seem the relevant muscles that are underused.

I need to build my cycling base, so after finishing the run, I went out for a standard Victoria Park loop with a bidon of water. I noticed no ill effects from running first, though the running effort was so pedestrian that it shouldn't have had any consequences.

Descending the hill immediately after turning onto O'Connor feels like this albeit with less unpleasantness to wildlife. I only achieved a top speed of 48 kph, which is disappointing - but unlike larger hills like Bayview, I feel like I'm actually contributing meaningful power and not just falling. I saw a raccoon near the end of the circuit that was imitating a bush in the shadow of a car.

I was nearly run over by a Kia minivan, which would be a tragic epitaph.
