Thursday Apr 3

Note
(rest day)
In Melbourne for the day with early and late flights - hence a scheduled rest day.

Wednesday Apr 2

GA run (7am) 1:06:00 [3] 12 km (5:30 / km)
slept:7.5 shoes: Nike Air Zoom Elite 2
Weather: mild, overcast
P/line plod. Legs felt tired (but not sore) from yesterday. Had a couple of walks now and then so I didn't stuff myself. Managed to stack it when I rolled my ankle with about 2.5km to go - bloody hurt and I was so glad I was wearing capri pants and the gravel was wet because otherwise my leg and hands would have been a real mess. Limped home....then got attacked by a wasp when trying to stretch at the car.... then found two leeches trying to get ahold on my back when I got home - what a morning!

Tuesday Apr 1

Run hills (7am) 50:00 [5]
slept:8.0 shoes: Nike Air Zoom Elite 2
Weather: cool, clear
10 mins warm up, 6 x strides across Waimea oval then 15 x 30s hills up Churchill Ave hill (to the back of a car between green box and next driveway), with jog down recoveries. Felt good - first few were OK, second five were getting harder by the top and the last five were getting harder closer to the bottom. Pleased I was able to keep the same time for all 15 and didn't feel absolutely stuffed afterwards (lthough walked the hills on the jog home!).

Monday Mar 31

Recovery run (7.15am) 28:58 [2]
slept:8.5 shoes: Nike Air Zoom Elite 2
Weather: cold, overcast, few spits of rain
Easy recovery jog along SBR & Nutgrove. Legs felt like they had no energy, especially up any rises. Bit of L hip bursitis to start with. Walked up Fisher Ave.
