Sunday Aug 31

Note
(injured)
Going to nothing for the next week in the vain hope my knee will sort its life out before aviemore, although I may have to resort to uber strength ibuprofen. I was hoping to get a bit of speed and fitness up before aviemore, but that'll have to wait until I can actually run.
hehe, circuits starts in about 2/3 weeks... that'll be FUN!

Wednesday Aug 27

Note
Watched Lord of the Rings, iced knee as walking around sheffield hurt it a bit, made mahoosive Chilli

Sunday Aug 24

Running 37:00 [2] 6.32 km (5:51 / km) +40m 5:40 / km
(injured) shoes: Asics somethings
Watched the closing ceremony (boring) then went for a run to see how the knee felt. Briskly through Crookes Valley and Weston Park then down to Endcliffe. Then slowly (sometimes very slowly) back home via endcliffe (Nisa is no-longer called Nisa!!) and Goodwin. Knee hurt a bit, but will probably do several short runs to get a bit ready for aviemore...

Friday Aug 22

Note
Was hoping to get a fair amount of running done this weekend, but last night's exertions puts paid to that...
Went out in Manc with school friends. I stopped for a bit of a wee, ran to catch the rest up, but tripped over a kerb/tram tracks, so now have many holes in my body, and a right knee bigger than it should be. Daft. I look like I've been the victim of an attempted mugging.
Amazed that I didn't screw up my face!

Saturday Aug 16

Gay Sport (Tennis) 1:45:00 [1]
slept:8.0 shoes: Asics somethings
Spent the day in front of the olympics and starting my homebrew off. Once the 100m was out of the way, had a bit of tennis at weston park with Liz, Neill and Neill's housemate. Started bad, got better, resulting in me loosing all the sets I played, but at least I eventually won a service game, and Liz and I played OK together, only loosing 6-4 (Neill and I lost 6-1 6-1 against Liz and Matt...)

Friday Aug 15

Note
completed my first full week of 'propper' work ever, so can now look properly forward to a weekend of slobbing in front of the olympics, brewing up a storm and making my new bed...

Thursday Aug 14

Note
Thighs ache for very little reason, feel shattered every day, takes me 30mins to get back home from Hallam, far too long, not a lot on TV in the evenings, not that the TV works very well anyway... and the last 2 days of pipetting didn't work so I have to do them again tomorrow...
Still, apart from that feel OK... helped by a footlong italian BMT at subbers today, and buying my beer kit at Wilkos :D

Tuesday Aug 12

Running 44:00 [3] 7.5 km (5:52 / km) +160m 5:18 / km
slept:7.0 shoes: Asics somethings
First time running in 3 weeks I think?
Headed out fairly late, just after Luce and Liz had set out. Up to Bolehill via Bradley Street, then across to Tinker Lane and down to Walkley cemmy, then along Rivelin to the pond after the dogleg in the road. Up to Long lane, then up above it, then cut through the woods to Long Lane again, follow the bridleway through the stables (with a bit of fannying for good measure) before heading along Stanington View Road to Crookes. Back home through odd roads, including Cobden View (so that's where that is!) and Commonside.
Distance/climb from mapmyrun.
Felt ok considoring lack of running. Nice route - uphill, downhill, and everything in between! Very much enjoyed the quick last 400m or so down coben/commonside :D

Monday Aug 11

Note
Should really get off my arse and go for a run, but I get back in, and there's olympics to watch, then I fall asleep on the sofa, then it's time for dinner, and there's nothing for me to do but wii/general fannying about...

Thursday Aug 7

Note
Back in Sheffield as am on a lab 'placement/project' down at Hallam... which unfortunatly means work :( Still tired from last weeks exertions, will do some exercise at some point...

Tuesday Aug 5

Note
Just got back from France it was good, apart from pushing people around/working with the inevitable hangovers, but they weren't too bad due to us mostly having late starts.
Back to the Sheff tomorrow to start lab placement.
