Skiing 3:00:00 [2]
Skiing Holiday! in Serre Chevalier. Spent a good 6/7 hours out each day, of which about 3 hours was skiing - the rest being sat on slooow chair lifts, or in mountain resteraunts. Fantastic resort for runs - lift system needs a bit of work though. Was empty pretty much all week! and powder on the tuesday!

Saturday Mar 29

Note
Going Skiing in France for a week. Yessah! Then, staright back to Sheffield and SingSoc rehersals, so could be absent from circuits for a couple of weeks after term starts again.

Running (Pennine Training) 1:19:00 [4] 6.0 mi (13:10 / mi) +261m 7:12 / km
slept:9.0 shoes: Decathlon Kalenji Kapteren XT
Training with Pennine. First time running by torchlight, which was odd - meant I slowed down a fair bit on the downhilly bits. To the Dragon's back via Christine's gate, then along to mt famine and south head. Down Dimper's clough and up the otherside of the valley, back through the fields down tunstead (bloody slippy considoring my trail shoes) then back down and along kinder road/along the river Sett to the Royal. Decided to run the forst 3 bits fairly hard, but lack of food and general illness made me slow down for the rest, before pasting it down kinder road, forgetting the long flat bit along the river at the end which went OK considoring.
Note
Pub with Fluce, Shaunus and AliB afterwards, meant pints offered and recieved :D Good to catch up, although me and fluce did bore Shaunus with our Uni talk as the evening wore on (AliB left to met the Enemy... despite needing to get up at 2.30 to drive to work. And he said I was mad for running in the freezing cold!!) Anyway, felt OK with the run. Tiredness meant I couldn't keep it up all the way, though I felt that, given me feeling good, I'd be able to faily easily...

Note
slept:9.0 (rest day)
OK, so maybe I should have done something, but I was knackered when I woke up and decided I'd slob around. Also, my shoes are STILL damp from monday soI'll let them air a bit... Managed to get a good bit of essay done, before writing a ShUOC report on the JK (got so into it I forgot to eat lunch!) and general eating chocolate/watching scrubs. Other than that, I'm loving the picture of me on the JK sprints, even if I do look like I'm about to sneeze...
might leave the house later, just to say I have today (even if all I do is go to get wood...) and watch the Apprentice.

Tuesday Mar 25

Note
slept:10.0 (rest day)
Bumming around Sheffield before getting a lift back.

Really enjoyed the JK, can't wait til the next O event I can get to - with a bit more technical nouse I reckon I can run longer courses without the fear of being out there at night-fall! Just by concentrating this weekend, I managed to considerably better my performance at BUSA!

Running warm up/down 5:00 [2]
slept:8.5 shoes: Decathlon Kalenji Kapteren XT
Orienteering race (JK Relays - Eridge Park) 1:06:08 [3] *** 4.1 km (16:08 / km) +150m 13:38 / km
spiked:12/12c shoes: Decathlon Kalenji Kapteren XT
By the time I took over from Mummy F-R, The round was covered in snow and I was just glad to get moving to keep warm! Wasn't in a great mindset as I entered the waiting pen too early so got bored. Running OK, but a far from clean run - especially control 6 which took 21 minutes. (also miss-read my codes, so spent a bit of time running around a control I thought I didn't need, when that was my control... not clever). Wasn't too keen with the map or the area for that matter. After that, took every leg safe, working from paths and fences when in the woods. Finished with a 'somersault' (if it can be called that) over the line as ShUOC Rambo 1, 2 & 3 were presented with their men's short winners' medals. Personally, an iffy finish to a fantastic weekend!
