Orienteering race (Chase Challenge LongO) 2:37:38 [4] *** 16.4 km (9:37 / km) +580m 8:10 / km
spiked:10/13c slept:8.0 shoes: Decathlon Kalenji Kapteren XT
Had a pretty crappy nights sleep what with hayfever, blocked and runny nose and all.
Long O B class - Cannock Chase. Was good. My Route planning was OK, but my decision making was pants. Also, monster long legs were used, when I didn't even get near the North West at all! Still. Other than a fanny at 4, which I put down to a massive dock off track being down as a small path, resulting in me being 2 re-entrants away from where I though I was, and poor map at 10/11/12 (and it being very technical on a 1:15000) Was OK. Having people around me in iffy areas meant I didn't get really lost and spend ages traipsing around the last 3km loop looking for flags, but still dead chuffed that I could actually complete it in a reasonable time (I targetted around 2.30, and I did spend about 15mins fannying about with shoes/food/water etc en-route... and putting the A3 map in the A4 map bags provided...) and do sub-10 min kms, what with my shoddy navigation, lack of speed today and dodgy knee.
All in all, a good weekend!
Note
I'll have a few days rest before pootling around Kinder and area a bit.

Saturday Jun 14

Running 1:10:00 [2]
slept:7.0 shoes: Decathlon Kalenji Kapteren XT
A fairly gentle pootle around Cannock chase with Zanthe and Gaz whilst the others were MountainBikeOing. Also let me have a look at the terrain and distinctive tree patches for tomorrow!
Biking (Trail Biking) 10:00 [2]
Beetled around on Lucy's bike after Wil got back. 1st time I've been on a bike in ages!
Orienteering race (Chase Challenge Sprint) 15:10 [4] *** 2.72 km (5:35 / km)
spiked:11/13c shoes: Decathlon Kalenji Kapteren XT
Sprint around somewhere Called 'Darwin Park,' a new housing estate outside Lichfield. Alright area to do it, but what initially looked like there were many route choices resulted in hardly any at all - winding around roads was the quickest route by far. Also, blocked off Gardens looked like they could be cut through on the map - Didn't really fancy doing that... Still, good, Only lost about 10secs overall. Could have gone quicker, but Thursday and Friday had caught up with me a bit. Top10 finish though!
Note
Barbecue at Chez Gaz's before crashing out on the floor.
Had Ham and Jam sandwiches before sprint race. mmm, they go well as they rhyme. I want to try lemon curd and cheese. They'll go well as they're the same colour.

Friday Jun 13

Nice exam today, fairly easy.
Am suffering a bit from the sunburn.
Going to stay in watching the mennace/Euros. Not going to contemplate circuits as it's too damn warm, and I'm tired.
I may go for a run much later, when it's dark and cooool.
