Home from Circuits. Been feeling a bit tired and irritable after the weekend. Hopefully just that and not the snuffles everyone in our office has had whilst I OD on VitC. (and biscuits).

CSC Brown. 13th (63:26 race time) Winner GG 51:29.

Bit scrappy and hesitant in places but generally pretty good and kept shifting, but then again I do know the lay of the land fairly well. Some decent splits, and not all when Spongey caught me up (only to face-plant soon after, landing with the grace and noise of a Fred Dibnah chimney). A dropped SI followed by overcorrecting an duff line meant he was out of sight earlier than I would have liked.

A few good scalps, pushed off line a bit too much when leaving controls but when there's a path so nearby that's not too bad.

FRA Relays 'Navigation' leg.

Gorilas in the mist job. Caught Black Combe (Rigg) and EUHH (Tim Morgan), we then proceeded to race each other thinking someone else was navigating, oops. Dropped way too low on 2 so missed the feature it was on. Then fucking about in clag and extra reentrants on 3 ,4, extra hills on 5, although not really looking at my map or compass is the main culprit here.

Passed TTDP and Dave Sykes 3 times.

Have to see the funny side but miffed as, in Simon C, had my strongest partner in a while, felt good early on, moving well in terrain and conditions should have suited me for a really good leg placing. Next year. Best to get the mistakes out of the way this weekend...

Also joined by our Vets team (eventual bronze) and Sam Tosh. Vets won V40 Bronze (as did V50s); open team 21st which is fair given our 1st and last legs weren't much cop, but they made the trip which is what matters!
