12min T (3:54min/km) out through Hillsborough and into Rivelin
2x Heroes (with steady downhill 3:52m/km) in 6:07/18 (to the brow), 36/44 to the chip shop.

Tempo a bit slow but felt very comfortable, i.e. what I should be like given training! 2nd heroes a bit more of a slog than ideal but always is after not taking the downhill easy/post tempo.

Would love to be racing Langdale this weekend, feeling in fair form and like I could do some damage. Got a big weekend planned though, weekly total could exceed 100 miles.

Very easy down parks and eccy into work. Legs eased nicely and I can feel strength settling in.
Drills on Monday appear to have wrecked my abs (who knew I had any?) which are quite tender.

Bashing about on Blacka and Burbage with Bray and Coombsey. Bit misty, bit damp, bit drizzly, bit fun.

Home, then to park with Craig.
They've started demolishing Hallam Towers, so a got lungs and eyes full of dust.

5x5(75) with HHS at endyP. Felt alright but not moving too speedy, had a few Woodley moments when Elen Downes was on me, which focussed the mind a bit more after the usual mid-rep lull.

Paces: 3.25,24,31,32,39.

Managed to leave my race shoes at home. However had planned on weighing in PB vouchers for a new pair of Mudclaws anyway, so jogged to the start field to purchase, watch the start, then head back.

Running - Trail 47:21 [3] 7.55 km (6:16 / km) +357m 5:04 / km
shoes: Mudclaw Classic HBMR'17

Leg 3 with Paul Rowley for Pennine mixed team.
Paul has just come back from injury, been cycling but little running. I was paired with him as our other 2 blokes are mince downhill. The 2 guys I'd normally run with (Si and Ian) are now both V40s so would have bolstered that team - although they were unavailable as it was anyway!

Set out ~3mins down on Black Combe and Totley, our mixed rivals. Caught Anna and Lizzie at the start of the neck descent into Threshthwaite mouth. Ended up too far left and a bit crag-fast, but happy to leave the teams that had followed us there and sort ourselves out, so call it tactics. Wanted to really push on the flatter run in down Pasture bottom but Paul's legs not that used to running yet. Closed down Totley and gapped BC, but not by enough.
1st, 2nd and now 3rd in Mixed. A sequence?

Checking out the new hyper-bad weather leg2/3 route. After flooding blocked roads in south lakes earlier in the day, this was beautiful autumnal weather and could see all across the lakes.

Last run from Cassa Del Hulley. Enjoyed living here and I'll revisit some of my running routes, but a change now will hopefully shake me up a bit. Any end-of-an-era feeling is that of Matt selling his Bachelor Pad, leaving behind his sex-pest ways and settling down.

Moving in with Craig and Dom in posh Fulwood. Whether he starts training like me, or I like him, we'll find out. I will be the only male in the house without a ponytail so I'll need people to keep me on the straight and narrow in that regard!
4 PM

Running - Trail 1:50:35 intensity: (1:10:35 @2) + (40:00 @3) 15.86 km (6:58 / km) +612m 5:51 / km
shoes: Mudclaw 300 'Classic' green

Philthy Phriday on Blacka and Burbage. Enjoyed.
