Wow. We've had 40+ mph southerly winds since the small hours, which has resulted in any E-W road/path bordered by hedges having all the snow blown off the fields and deposited in the road. This has resulted in drifts innundating the drive, some roads and paths, up to shoulder height in a few places.

Put my ski goggles on and struck out to Gizzy Woods for a bit of shelter. Legs a bit heavy on the ice from yesterday when going uphill but moving alright considering conditions.

Strong wind coming from the south. Bit of moderate effort to Bank Foot to warm up a bit.

Off road 2 mile TT. False flat ice skate into strong headwind for the first mile (6:37). Turned around for a glorious tailwind mile back (5:26 about as fast as my legs will do it appears)

3 x 5T(2) on the roads, then back across the drifting fields and roads from Easby. Not bad considering the conditions and felt good at the end - probably due to a tailwind at that point. Kept the recoveries a bit long again, should probably start hardening up next week.

Better late than never - broke out the old dobs. They did need some cobwebs removing.
Idea of these Saturday afternoon doubles is to leverage the benefit of glycogen debt from earlier in the day, as well as ease out before Sunday's long run. Could well be pseudo-science and I'm actually just doing egregious junk miles.

Round Roseberry. Compacted snow getting more hairy than fun.

Felt a bit lethargic this week. Snow is good but lots of biomechanic abnormalities. Was also carrying a bit of work anxiety as some tech dev that hasn't worked 3 time (for various reasons out of our control) was on its 4th attempt, but all good there now, which was a relief.

Rare WFH day so took a long lunch to escape the Breadsticks and hit a few snowy descents. Tired on waking and a bit heavy legged - no inclination to doa session at the moment - but enjoyed the lovely snow and generally blue skies.
