Street Run 28:00 [3] 4.0 km (7:00 / km)
shoes: ASICS Lyte 33 (blue)

New Garmin. Same old body. My 4km route is still exactly 4km (the watch vibrated at me as I walked around the corner). It appears that I need to mentally recalibrate my heart rate calculations though - I may pretend to myself that I am still young(ish), but the watch quite bluntly told me that I am an overweight middle-aged woman, and that 140 - 150 bpm is quite sufficient. And that I need 26 hours recovery time. WTF?!

Achieve It (boxkick) 1:00:00 [3]
shoes: ASICS Super J33 (yellow/pink)

Wore the watch, but didn't have it recording. Heartrate stayed moderate, although the session was hard work. 12,227 steps all up.
Figured out what one of the screens was showing me - the weather! Cos, you know, I can't figure that out for myself by sticking my head out.

Achieve It (time trial) 29:40 [3] 5.0 km (5:56 / km)
shoes: ASICS Electro 33 (pink)

God, I am so unfit. Needed several walking breaks. I didn't feel particularly out of breath, but the new Garmin (shipped this morning :-)) has a HRM, so maybe time to play with heart rate training again.

Warm up/down, etc.

Note

Stats for the statisticians: 1365 km for the year, which is about average. Only 63.4 of those were orienteering (must do more!). Trail runs accounted for 25%, and the rest were street runs and Step Into Life cardio sessions.
SIL session count = 233. An average of 4.5 per week, including the Tuesday boxkick classes that I've been running since April.
7 AM

Street Run 27:00 [3] 4.2 km (6:26 / km)
shoes: ASICS Lyte 33 (blue)

Elmo.
9 AM

Achieve It (instructing) 1:00:00 [3]
shoes: ASICS Super J33 (yellow/pink)

Not too hot, not too cold. And 14,758 steps in the bank by lunchtime.

Note

Ordered a FR235 on sale at JB Hi-Fi. The 610 behaved itself this morning (scared straight!), but I reckon every 6 years is a good upgrade schedule.
8 AM

Street Run 27:00 [3] 4.1 km (6:35 / km)
shoes: ASICS Super J33 (yellow/pink)

Elmo. Spent a few minutes wandering around the camping/picnic area down by the river. Totally quiet and deserted apart from the birds and myself. Someone's planted a lemon tree off to the side - good luck with that! although it looks pretty robust.

Walking 30:00 [3]

Went for a walk at midnight. Clear sky, almost-full moon, fireworks, and the dulcet tones of doof-doof drifting across the town. Actually, it must have been an older crowd, because the music was all 80s and 90s.

Street Run 20:00 [3] 3.0 km (6:40 / km)
shoes: ASICS Super J33 (yellow/pink)

Couple of laps to iron out the kinks.
9 AM

Achieve It 1:00:00 [3]
shoes: ASICS Super J33 (yellow/pink)

Good session, body-wise. No hurty bits.

Trail Run 1:20:00 [3] 10.2 km (7:51 / km) +100m 7:29 / km
shoes: Inov-8 X-Talon 212 (bl/orng)

Wildflower Drive, full loop. Facebook tells me that my Garmin FR610 is just over 6 years old. I've thought about upgrading - especially with bluetooth connectivity via the smartphone. But that was really the only reason. Until today. It has just lost another run, for no reason whatsoever. The summary information is there in the watch, but the detail has gone, and it won't upload. Its days are numbered....

(FWIW, my FR301 still gets an occasional outing on the bike. It's now 12 1⁄2 years old. I need to fire up the old Vista PC to get that one uploaded).
