Butterwood regional. What a crap run. Navigation wasn't too bad but I just felt so slow all the way round. Needed someone to go past me to give me a kick up the backside.
Got bored of the course as it kept going back and forth on the same area, then when we crossed the motorway the felled areas were rubbish to run on. Missed some obvious route choices also.
Was planning to do a 10k on wednesday but I'm having second thoughts now.

Friday May 30

Note
(rest day)
Lats 6 miles of the exped and the weather was miles better.

Thursday May 29

Note
(rest day)
D of E expedition Cheddar Gorge. I cant bring myself to count walking as a training session. Weather fine until 5pm then it lashed it down all night. The kids didn't seem to mind at all but it did get them into bed early.

Orienteering 39:53 [4] *** 6.44 km (6:12 / km)

Army score event on Norris Hill. 1 hour score event on a wet day and very wet area. 1:7500 map threw me a little at the start and I missed out 1 of the controls that I had to go back for.
Felt good and fresh.

Tuesday May 27

Circuits 1:00:00 [3]
Weights 3x12 and core.
running 40:00 [3] 6.06 mi (6:36 / mi)
ahr:161 max:172
Started off with the club warm up then carried on down the canal then back over Long Valley and the relays route. Legs tired.

Monday May 26

Orienteering race 1:08:45 [5] * 9.65 mi (7:07 / mi)
ahr:168 max:183 shoes: Salomon Speed Cross
Surrey Hills Trail race at Leith Hill.
Rain and wind again this year but at least it wasn't too cold.
Lost 10 sec at #2 as a tree had blown down. Think that there is a quicker way to #5 so need to look at the route again.
Mark Wilkins pulled out a lead to #4 and never really saw him again so had to settle for 2nd place again.
Think I'm gonna do the long course next year just to see what its like.
Good race.
