Boskman Triathlon.
I went off hard at the start and led for the first 100m before the winner came through. I tried to stay with 2nd and 3rd as they came through but had to let them go as I was going too hard that early in the race.
As we got close to the river bank it got very shallow and I caught my hand on something sharp. I tried to look at it whilst I was swimming along but there was no blood to be seen.
I finished off the swim feeling pretty good and got into transition before blood started poring everywhere and I needed the medics to patch it up. This took over five minutes so it was killing me seeing others leave on the bike.
Very happy to get out of the water in 4th place.

This didn't go too well at all. I started to hydrate after 30 minutes but the first banana came straight back up. This could have been the adrenaline wearing off from my cut or the jelly fish that I swallowed in the swim.
After 2 hours my glutes gave up working and I had to stay in the upright position that was killing my hand just as much. The average pace slowed from 18mph down to 16 so a bad day at the office.

Note

I decided to get myself off to A & E after the bike and spent 4 hours to get stitched up. Apparently the nurse could see my tendons underneath so it was a very lucky miss on that account.
3 stitches and no Thorpe Park Triathlon next weekend:-(
