Today I had the chance to be Scottish hill running champion if I managed to finish in the top two scots. So even though I hadn't felt great this week I didn't want to waste that chance. (in the end I didn't feel that coldy at all today so that's not an excuse)

Race started slowly and I just sat in there. Its not often that I find climbing easy but it was for the first 3 hills it was. However the descending was pretty fast.

We the got to the bottom of turnhouse and Kris took off. I decided to follow him, as my main thought at the start of the race was that if I could get the the top of turnhouse having not been dropped I stood a chance at that top 2 scots place. Kris eased away on the climb and so did Andy F. I was surprised to stay ahead of murray though. So at this poiunt still scott number 2. My knee started to hurt a bit up here but decided to ignore it.

Then for the next set of lumps out to the drove road I climbed at a pace below red line but my decending got slower and slower as my knee hurt more and more. Still managed to keep jethro and murray at roughly the same distance of about 30-45s.

Got to the top of hare hill then realised on the decent through the heather that I couldn't actually lift my knee very much at all and attempting to lift it over the heather hurt quiet a lot. So walked down hare hill, met oleg at the bottom, had a stretch, retired then jogged back.

Disappointing end to a race that felt like it was only just about to get started.

As a side note it does seem that my knee cant handle very much descending at the minute so looking forward to getting FRAs ad hill running out of the way and doing some good strengthening ready for next year.

15mins warm up and some strides and stretching. Then 45mins jog around the beautiful countryside - loving the cracking day.

Still a little coldy feeling but not to bad

Run (xc) 12:15 [5] 4.0 km (3:04 / km)

West district relays. A few hills but not enough mud for my liking. Went out in 3rd back in 1st - job done. (only 65s down on Calum Hawkins.....)

Trial to see how the cold felt before skyline the next day. I felt a bit bunged up but lungs survived alright so all go for tomorrow.

Another day off today in the hope I wake up 100% tomorrow.
Thought by being on this fast and doing all the right things like sleeping lost and eating well this very small cold would shift in a few days, instead it seems to be lingering just like most of the colds I ever get.
The weekends plans aren't now looking so good

woke up with a bit of scratchy throat and feeling a bit crap in general. so going to give running a miss today and hopefully feel better tomorrow

An angry run to football, my first week of being organiser and I had a few people drop out with just minutes to go, so a bit of a crap game tonight.
