Run 40:00 [2] 7.0 km (5:43 / km)

Warm up and down

Orienteering 36:00 [5] 7.0 km (5:09 / km)

British Relays
Got the perfect set up going into last leg with a 30s lead, following great runs from Dane and Joe. GG 30s and sasha 45s behind.

Area was very scrappy so I was careful to try to find everything, and check codes. Even doing this I had a few 10s wobbles in circles. This meant sasha caught be two thirds of the way round. Then we both messed up the gaffle the end of the long leg, but time a bit less so and he got a clear lead. From here was a bit gutted and just got to the finish line round all the dead running at the end. Only to find out that euoc had MPed and Aire had won their first British relay champs in 41 years! Great feeling to win for aire but a little bittersweet as sort of got overtaken into 2nd.

Run 40:00 [2] 7.0 km (5:43 / km)

Warm up and down. Didn't feel any major cold effects, so the combination of Jack Woods cooking and a chilled out day seemed to do the body a world of good

Orienteering 1:25:00 [5] 19.0 km (4:28 / km) +660m 3:49 / km

British Champs
Started at a sensible pace and tried to kept my head in the map trying to orienteer as much as possible. And this is how things went for most of the race. One overshoot on 6 where I probably dropped a minute. The plan of just run along the top of the slope until you see it wasnt really good enough here. And a few bannanas out of controls but otherwise clean.
Seemed to get the pacing right as well because I still felt strong at the end. Saw Pete and Will on the last loop and upped it a bit to try catch them but never quite happened.

Very happy with this races after the jk - which was a bit of a mental disaster for me. Managed to stay relaxed and keep thinking about orienteering during the race m, which worked well.

Also very happy to win my first British champs. Now got a British and JK title so feel like if I get injured tomorrow I will be satisfied with what I have achieved in o in the UK - which is a nice feeling

Warm up and down

Orienteering 15:00 [5] 3.5 km (4:17 / km)

British MSR
Thought this event had a great arena and atmosphere and the 3day British combo worked for promoting this event (even if it might have hampered Monday relay attendance).
Aire had a good day coming 5th. Personally, o had one huge missing (I still blame Murray) and cold didn't help at the top end. But the racing was still really fun.
