Orienteering race 3:22:00 [3]
Half-Raid with Stephania! I had a blast reuniting with the ol' Funderstorm, but the race felt like a bit of a struggle. I woke up with a cold after standing outside for 7 hours the day before volunteering at the Beav, and I don't think that combination did me any favours. Slow, cementy legs aside, we had a relatively good race, with only one major bobble on CP4 when I took us in too early and down too far which I then had to apologize profusely for as we scampered back up to get the control. Other than that, it was the usual inefficient route choices that I normally take, coupled with being kinda slow. The temperature was lovely for running, and I sure am glad that we got this in before the snow hit Monday!
This course did *seem* to run a bit long, but I've already voiced my opinion about that to the organizer. ;-) I guess the extra kms justified one of the extra post-race beers I consumed later that evening.
