X-Country Skiing 1:10:00 [3]

Afternoon skiing fun with Hermes and OutdoorsMama at Scenic Caves after a somewhat harrowing drive up where the roads would from completely clear to crazy drifts in a matter of metres. I was later than expected so we didn't get a ton of catch up time in, but it was great to see OutdoorsMama in this neck of the woods!

After happy hour at Hermes, we decided to show each other some CrossFit progressions in the basement. Things took a left turn when one of us (me) got a little sloppy with a box jump, and well, that ended our happy hour CrossFit games. I think this is why I usually stick to beer!

Running 1:15:00 [3]

Evening trail run with Allison on the Puslinch trails. Icy fun and a perfect way to end the week!

Running 45:00 [3]

Freezing rain here so hit the treadmill with some inspirational running movies. Threw in several hill intervals as it just seemed wrong not to while watching movies about UTMB and Western States!

Strength Training 45:00 [3]

Planned for CrossFit this morning but missed it (aka because I didn't set my alarm) so did a BodyPump class at lunch instead. Thought I'd find this a joke now but I was a bit cocky with the weight and because the approach is so different it still ended up being a good workout.

Lunchtime run with Allison in the sunshine. Worth being a sweaty mess at my desk this afternoon!

Skiing - downhill 1:00:00 [2]

I tried downhill skiing for the first time last year and don't want to lose the little skill that I have so I took advantage of Chicopee's "Discover Mondays" package which is ridiculously cheap and a fun way to spend a Monday night.

The skiing was the easy part - convincing myself I could get on and off the chair lift safely was the scary bit!

Trekking/Hiking 1:45:00 [2]

I was "voluntold" by a friend of mine that I'd be taking a group out snowshoeing today at Hockley. Apparently Mother Nature didn't get the memo about that! We decided to hike anyways but the conditions were a little sketchy for a group of people who showed up in road running shoes and/or snow boots. Everyone survived and had fun (none had ever been there before) but I was a bit uncomfortable with this group given the sketchy trail conditions. I was fine with my SpikeCross but there was a lot of slipping and sliding going on in the road shoes!
