Running 1:00:00 [3]
I have a setting on my Ambit that I've called "rambling" and that's how I recorded this on that - part running, part hiking, depending on the terrain and the views. Rambling is different than "Adventure Time!", another one of my Ambit settings which I use for when I expect to get a bit lost or be off trail.
After a lovely cozy evening in Earl and a french press full of coffee and some potatoes in my belly, I set out from my campsite at MacGregor Point on a gorgeous morning with a loose plan and a couple of hours to kill. I had the trails all to myself which might sound antisocial but I really enjoy...I took the Old Shore Road along Lake Huron and scurried out every once in awhile to look out into the bays and feel so grateful to be able to do things like this! The trails were mostly dry but every once in awhile I would come across a section that was under water, which made for some creative route choices! I did one section along the beach and it was pinch me beautiful, although not particularly runnable.
Eventually I took a trail away from the water to hook up with the road back to the campsites and then picked up the gravel bike trail back to where Earl was waiting patiently.
I saw two lovely deer and a whole family of turtles sunning themselves on a rock on an absolutely perfect morning!
