Trekking/Hiking 2:45:00 [3]

Packed up and on the trail just after 7 in order to try to make it out early. Our packs felt like as a feather and the hike was lovely but uneventful, as a good portion of it was on the same section that we had come in on. We had a quick clean up and then hit up the Farmer's Daughter in Huntsville for lunch.

I love learning new things on every backcountry trip that I take. Two of my takeaways from this trip were 1) I should have brought my hammock and 2) Alcohol is always worth the weight.

Overall, I think that this trip has ruined me for backpacking as the weather and conditions were so perfect! Eco was great company and also excellent at helping me to ration out the firewood, so that I didn't burn it all in the first 30 minutes! ;-)

Trekking/Hiking 3:45:00 [3]

I think that this was both of our favourite day. Their was a beautiful breeze, lovely sun, no bugs, and the trail was interesting and varied. The only challenge of the day (and the trip) was feeling a bit rushed to get to the next lake to get the "best" site. Next time, I would look more to the lakes with a single site to take the pressure off. We knew we'd have some good choices on Islet and kept hearing about a magical site with a beach that we hoped to snag. We passed up the first (and farthest from the exit) site, but it was a real gem. The next one we liked, but decided to push our luck and see if we could get the magical site. Along the way, we ran into a couple who said it was already taken, so we went back to the previous one, which was reminiscent of night one and a solid 8/10. I wish it had better swimming, but it had a kick ass firepit and perfect western exposure for enjoying the sunset.
