Paddling 3:30:00 [2]

On our last canoe trip, Amber and I were both saying that we'd like to take some formal paddle training. It seemed like a sign from the Universe when I came across a weekend of ORCKA certification courses that were being offered at Pinehurst Lake this past weekend.

The courses were put on by a company called "It All Comes Naturally" out of Brantford and I can't say enough good things about them. The instructors were fantastic and the day was full o' learning. Saturday we did Levels 1 and 2 and we couldn't believe how different our paddling felt by the end of the day. It was a beautiful day at Pinehurst and there were several groups of runners running the Run for the Toad loop, which was always held on this weekend

An eventful morning shuffle on the Grand River Trail where I went through a surprisingly scary haunted house, then came around a corner to find a beautiful healthy deer standing in the middle of the trail looking at me. Her friend darted away, but she and I stood there looking at each other for a few seconds before she rambled off. A good start to the day!

On the treadmill watching the first hour of the Rickey Gates Transamerica film, which is so well done! Tried running but my cough has lingering so walking it was.
