Hiked from our lovely cabin to the Shield trail and back. A lovely warm morning and we had the trail to ourselves.

Amber and I took Peter out on Bon Echo Lake, just a short portage down from our cabin, to practice our skills from the paddle courses the previous weekend.

We went back to Pinehurst on Sunday for Level 3, and unfortunately we were not accompanied by Saturday's lovely weather! It was between 6-9 degrees all morning and never stopped raining. It was a good test of the saying that there's no such thing as bad weather, just inappropriate gear! There were only four of us today with the owner of the company instructing so we felt like we got tons of personalized attention. It was great to practice and refine the skills we had learned the day before and add a few more strokes to our repertoire!

We managed to stay warm enough while paddling but when we came out for the last theory portion of the course, the cold and wet definitely set in. Coming home and getting into the shower felt really, really good!
