| Tour de Rumford Day 2 - 10k Skate
Great course. Very rolling with some nasty climbs. Took it easy for majority of first lap, but worked the hills. Caught up to 30s girl around 5k. She stuck to me like glue for the last 5k, and I gave it all I had to keep ahead of her. Last major hill felt so hard. I was completely wiped at finish, but this was a great race for me. 6th place, my first top 10 in an Eastern Cup! | ||

| Tour de Rumford day 1 - Classic sprints
Qualified 21st in sprint prelims. Mostly flat course with one really steep hill means I can just run up the hill and do fairly well. 1st Heat - I was ranked 5th in my heat, which had some really tough skiers in it. I had a horrible start and was last and gapped from the beginning. I pushed it on the hill and made it up to third place. I double poled the finish for all my worth, but got passed by one girl. 4th in the heat, but very close to the 2nd place girl and last advancing spot. | ||

| Even though we didn't get any additional snow, just the fact that they rolled the trails made a huge difference (as long as you watched out for the grass peaking through). I went for a pretty good classic ski today that included 20min no pole, easy technique work, and agility stuff. | ||

| Felt good in warmup, but pretty poor during the race. Right from the start my legs felt heavy and slow. I was thinking about things that I shouldn't have been, like the snows really messed up here or I can't really see that girl that started ahead of me. I didn't really commit to the downhill; I should have tucked it or tried to free skate it. I did something in between that certainly couldn't have been that fast. My turn and transitions were ok, but I just didn't have power or speed to back it up. I'm dead tired. Nationals has managed to kill me big time this year. Team sprint up next... | ||

| 1st race of US Nationals. 5k skate. Course was really tough, with challenging downhills and really tough uphills. By the end of the race I was completely worked. At 86th, I placed better than last year, but didn't beat my goal of doing better than my place at US XC running nationals (84th). | ||
