Legs felt a bit tired, but nothing like as bad as after Ben Sheann!

Eildon 2 Hills Race
7.2k with 460m of climb. Finished 7th (1st Super Vet) in 33:25. Lost a bit of time with my choice of route off both summits, but descended better (apart from down the steps) than at Ben Sheann! Was pushed hard all the way by Jethro who finished in 8th. Hazel was 2nd lady in 37 minutes.
Knew I'd done this hill race once before and on checking through training diaries found out it was in 1985 when I took 28 minutes. Assuming I was at my peak then, and that the course and conditions were the same, I'm running the course ca 12 seconds slower each year, which equates to going 3 seconds per km slower each year! Just wish I'd known this when I was 25 because I could have done a sub 25 minutes 10k!

Ben Sheann Hill Race, Strathyre.
Spur of the moment decision to race just over an hour before the start - my first hill race in many years and thanks to Lards weekly training/racing e mail!
Had a reasonable climb but lost ca 8 places on the steep/rocky/rooty descent and finished in 18th position with a time of 29:47 minutes.
Great turnout by FVO - with Jamie S coming an excellent 2nd.
