Hiking up Cat Mountain in the Adirondacks with Sam and Zephy! We were going to go to the Catskills today, but Sam found this mountain with a decent view in the southern Adirondacks, so we decided to that instead. This hike was very crowded. There weren't many people, but that was good because there wasn't room for people with all the black flies. I'm not sure when we've last had a hike with as fast a per mile time as this hike because we were booking it to stay away from the bugs. This was likely because the hike was mainly through a swamp for like 3.5 miles before ascending sharply towards the end. The view from the summit was really nice, but sadly we could not really sit and eat lunch and enjoy it because all the bugs were enjoying us for lunch instead, so we took a few quick pictures and then booked it back down. Still super good to get out into the mountains!
