Canoe 1:30:00 [3]5.8 km (15:31 / km)
Went out to the Canoe-O at the secret location with Ian. We had sort of a disaster with transportation, but did manage to get to and from the meet. We were doing ok (although not really all that fast I don't think) until we made a small mistake at number 6. Another boat followed us on our mistake and then turned around when we turned around, so we ended up reaching number 6 at the same time as 2 other boats. Ian really wanted to push ahead of the other boats and at this point I basically had no paddling muscles left at all, so I suggested he let me out at the next portage point and then I would run to number 7, while he paddled directly to number 8, where I would meet him. This worked fine to number 7. I got to the control at about the same time as the other boats we were with, and I figured looking at the map that I could run to 8 faster than the boats could paddle there. Mistake! It turns out the roads on the map and the roads in real life didn't seem to match especially well. I ended up running a lot farther than I had planned and found myself at number 9 and then had to run back to number 8, putting us well behind the other boats. It also turns out that I got a "wet" control from dry land, which is apparently illegal as well as going into some out of bounds areas, so we were disqualified. Oh well...
Running 27:00 [3]2.99 mi (9:02 / mi)
shoes: New Balance Orienteering
Ran from number 6 to number 7 to number 9 to number 8 on the canoe-o. Running felt pretty good. I felt a couple of twinges in my butt, but in general was able to run without too much of a problem. It felt good to get out again. Running in a life jacket is annoying and causes some strange looks from passersby.

Orienteering 1:00:00 [3]4 km (15:00 / km)
shoes: New Balance Orienteering
CSU training at Prospect Hill. Pia set a great contours-only course. I'm not allowed to run until this weekend, so I walked it, which may have been a good thing navagationally. It was especially difficult to come up on large features (such as a road) and not see them on the map. The humidity was high enough that even walking, I was sweating, which made me feel like I was doing more :-).

Elliptical 45:30 [3]4.0 mi (11:22 / mi)
Does anyone know a good physical therapist in the Boston area?

I went to the doctor again today and they now think that one of my disks is irritated. The current plan is that I'm allowed to elliptical this week and then hopefully this weekend can start running in the woods. I probably need to go to a physical therapist but Harvard's university health is stupid, and I have to be referred by someone to get the name of a pt, but I can't see the person who can refer me. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Went to the gym and ellipticalled very slowly. It didn't hurt though, which was good!
