Orienteering 1:00:00 [3] ***
21c shoes: New Balance Orienteering

Setting and picking up controls at the meet today. Carrying 11 stands at one time is rather painful, but we got all the controls in nice and quickly!

I think the meet went pretty well. People mostly seemed happy coming back, which was good! There were a couple of problems with control codes, which got fixed reasonably early on but affected some of the early people. (Sorry about that! And thanks Ross for fixing it!!!) And one problem with a control that was moved slightly after it was set. Luckily not very far, so a lot of people didn't notice and hopefully no one was affected by it. I guess this is the problem with putting on meets in highly populated parks. Otherwise, things went smoothly. Thanks to Ross, Sam, Alex, Ed, Larry, Sara Mae, Brendan, and everyone else that helped!! (I'm sorry if I left anyone's name off the list. It's been a long day...)

Setting controls for the meet tomorrow and checking the white/yellow control locations. Pretty cold to start out, but it got to a nice temperature for running after a while. I wanted to try to run Ross's course at Boojum, but I didn't finish setting in time to run Ross's course and go see Al Gore speak, and Al Gore won.

Amusingly, who should come sit behind me at the Gore talk but Ali, who had just come from Ross's meet! :-)

Running 27:03 [3] 3.1 mi (8:44 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Running 2

Easy run with Presto from my apartment to the river and then did the JFK-River St. loop. My shins were feeling kind of tight at the beginning but loosened up after a little while. Very nice day for a run!
