Orienteering 1:22:07 [3] *** 4.7 km (17:28 / km)

Red course at Baldwin Hill with Presto! I'm not entirely sure where my brain was at the beginning, but clearly it was not orienteering. I was planning to follow a stone wall and then hit a trail, but the trail never really appeared and before I knew it I was somehow back down a steep hill that I had just recently climbed up and in a swamp. I then trudged my way back up the hill, floundered around for a while, and finally relocated off of a small boulder in the middle of nowhere. Almost 15 minutes gone on the first control...oops! Luckily Presto had a good time in all our wanderings :-). I decided I'd better get my head back into gear and took 2 and 3 nice and slow. I found them with no problems, and then started speeding back up again. Things were fine until 6 where I was slightly off, but corrected quickly. The only other real problem was 10, where I was contouring around a fairly bland hill and started looking for the control way too early. Other than that things were pretty clean, and aside from number 1, I was pretty happy with how things went. Presto also really enjoyed it, and I think I FINALLY tired him out :-).
