Running 44:20 [3] 4.6 mi (9:38 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Running 16

Running with Presto at the Berkeley Marina! Presto needed more dog food, so since we had to go down nearly to the Marina anyway, I figured we'd run there. It was sunny and clear and gorgeous today, and running felt great. Although, to be fair I was taking it pretty easy because of the Golden Goat tomorrow. Presto prepped for tomorrow by keeping a close eye on all the ground squirrels :-).

Stretching 10:00 [3]

Normal stretching.

Running 32:51 [3] 3.1 mi (10:36 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Running 16

Easy-peasy run with Sam and Presto after lab! My legs are still a bit tired from the weekend, but it was good to get out. Presto was quite thrilled with all the deer, especially when they decided to jog along with us for a while. The deer here are weird :-).

Strength 5:00 [3]

Normal abs.

Stretching 10:00 [3]

Normal stretching. My left hip flexor is acting up a bit. I need to keep an eye on that leg...

Orienteering 20:17 [3] *** 2.7 km (7:31 / km)
18c shoes: Sacony Xodus

Qualification round at the Presidio with Presto! Fun, fun! My legs were feeling it a bit from yesterday, but I could still push a bit. I had some trouble getting into the map and bobbled the first and second controls. I settled in after that and it was clean. Lots of fun tricky walls and vegetation and stuff, and I made it into the A final!

Orienteering 21:36 [3] *** 2.9 km (7:27 / km)
26c shoes: Sacony Xodus

Sprint Final at the Presidio with Presto! The final was a reverse chase, so Marie-Jose was right behind me. Of course, I immediately blew the first control. Then Presto had to pee on the way to the second control, and Marie-Jose caught me by the third control. By the fourth we caught Chris, and now we were a proper pack :-).

I hung with Marie-Jose, keeping a close eye on my map, looking for places to get ahead. There were a lot of micro route choice options, but most of them seemed to be about equivalent. I finally got my break-away chance at 21 and was barely ahead for the rest of the race (although I never managed to make that minute back up). Julia caught up to us by the end as well, and awesomely, all 4 women were in the finish chute at the same time :-). Super, super fun weekend!

Stretching 20:00 [3]

Stretching back at home and then again before bed.
