Running 31:32 [3] 3.4 mi (9:16 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Running 16

Running with Sam at Asilomar! We had a bit less of a lunch break today, so we went on a bit shorter run. It was still super nice and today we saw a couple of sea otters floating on their backs!!! (Oh, and the knee felt fine!) Excellent run :-).

Stretching 5:00 [3]

A bit of stretching at bedtime. My knee is feeling better today, but still not perfect.

Running 1:05:59 [3] 7.2 mi (9:10 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Running 16

Running with Sam at Asilomar! There was a pretty long break for lunch today, so we decided to head out for a run down to Lover's Point and back. It was gorgeous out and we even saw a family of seals hanging out in a little cove, which was awesome :-). Definitely the best way to spend the lunch break!

Stretching 5:00 [3]

Just as we were leaving for our run, my PI told me she wanted me to go to the Neurospora Business Meeting, which was happening more or less right then, so I headed over to that as soon as I finished running, which meant I didn't get a chance to stretch until bedtime. My knee was complaining a bit by then, which was somewhat concerning.

Running 18:00 [3] 2.0 mi (9:00 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Running 16

Quick run partway up and down the hill with Presto! Sam and I are heading off to a conference, so I wanted to give Presto a quick run before dropping him off with the dog-sitter. It was kind of hot, so Presto was a bit slow, but at least he was a little tired when I dropped him off...

Stretching 5:00 [3]

A little bit of stretching before bed.

Hiking (Snowshoe) 3:00:00 [3] 6.0 mi (30:00 / mi)

Hiking up Maggie's Peak with Sam, Holly, Anna, Tori, Carlo, and Presto! After a day on groomed trails yesterday, we decided to get out for a nice hike today. We started up Maggie's peak from Bay View Campground (which was completely covered in snow - only the roofs of the bathrooms were sticking up).

The hike was completely gorgeous, with lots of sun and lots of views. Presto was having a ball since the snow was packed enough that he mostly wasn't post-holing. We made it almost to the summit before getting a bit spooked about avalanches with the crazy-steep slope and rapidly thawing snow, so we headed back down to Granite Lake for lunch and then over to a local high point on the other side of the lake. My hip flexors held up with the snowshoeing, which was super exciting, and I didn't even get blisters! Awesome, awesome day!

Stretching 10:00 [3]

Normal stretching back at home. I am going to be sore...
