Hiking 45:00 [3] 3.1 mi (14:31 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Running 17

Walking with Presto on the normal running loop! It's super nice out right now, and I decided Presto and I needed some outside time, so out we went. There are a ton of roses blooming right now, so we did lots of stopping to smell the flowers. Presto does not understand the point in smelling flowers that have not been peed on.

Strength 17:00 [3]

Normal abs + stretchy band glutes + planks + standing on the bed on one leg with my eyes closed.

Biking 10:00 [3] 3.0 mi (3:20 / mi)

Biking down to Spieker Pool to meet up with Sam for a swim, only to discover that apparently you can not buy day entries at the gym anymore. You have to do it online, which requires setting up a profile and account and stuff, so we gave up and went home.

Hiking 45:00 [3] 3.5 mi (12:51 / mi)

But we wanted to do something outside, so we went on a walk on the flat section of the fire trail. It was kind of chilly, but really nice. Good to get out!

Stretching 10:00 [3]

Normal stretching plus calf rolling.

Hiking 45:00 [3] 3.1 mi (14:31 / mi)

Walking the normal running loop with Sam and Presto! My knee and foot are still being annoying. Grumble.

Hiking 2:00:00 [3] 8.0 mi (15:00 / mi) +400m 12:59 / mi
shoes: Brooks Running 17

Hiking up Mt Tam with Sam and Presto! This was definitely a more intense hike than yesterday, and both my foot and my knee were feeling it a bit, unfortunately. We started from Lake Lagunita, which was completely packed with people, horses, and dogs. The hike up felt pretty easy, and I thought everything was fine, but then we climbed up on top of some rocks to look at the view (such as it was with the haze) and I noticed my knee was a little unhappy. Shortly after that my foot also started complaining. Sigh.

We cut our planned hike short a bit and took a really steep trail straight back down to the lake. I'm not sure that this was an improvement over a slightly longer, less steep option from the point of view of my knee and foot, but it was a good reminder to our descending muscles of what hiking feels like :-).

Stretching 20:00 [3]

A goodly stretch after some more Technu. (Mt Tam was also pretty covered in poison oak.)

Presto was appalled to discover that he was going to need a shower 2 days in a row. It's a tough life being a dog.
