Running with Holly, Tori, and Presto up Hill 88 in the Marin Headlands! Super nice run (if steeper than we were planning on...) with awesome company. We explored a bit of the old WWII army installations and got some awesome views of both the Farallon Islands and Mt. Diablo. My butt and legs were getting pretty tired on the steeper stuff on the way up, but the run down felt good at least :-). Then Holly, Presto, and I lounged on the beach while Tori ran another 9 miles... Really great day for a run!

Running in the rain with Presto! Running uphill still feels a bit harder than usual, but I actually felt more or less ok tonight. Yay! Presto was surprisingly chipper considering that there was water falling from the sky. It was also surprisingly chilly. I hope they're getting lots of snow in the mountains!!

Increasing my iron has been super helpful. (For the record, I've been eating spinach salads with some steak chunks for lunch every day and some beef curry that we made this weekend for dinner this week.)

I still don't feel totally normal, but the super foggy feeling seems to have diminished and my head only occasionally hurts instead of having a constant 24/7 headache, which is a MASSIVE improvement.

Running with Presto after lab! Increasing my iron intake has been really helpful. While I can't say that this run felt great, at least my legs didn't hurt! It felt like breathing was a more limiting factor, which seems a pretty reasonable considering that I'm still a bit wheezey.

Aside from just feeling slow, the only other real problem was that apparently my body has just completely given up on protecting me from foreign bodies. I guess I got something stuck in my toe a few days ago and yesterday it turned bright red, swelled up, and started producing lovely amounts of puss. I squeezed the puss out and soaked it in hot, salty water, which seemed to substantially improve things. Unfortunately, it was still a bit painful and swollen tonight, which made the downhill less fun than usual.

At least Presto was SUPER EXCITED tonight and spent most of the run wagging his tail :-).

Running with Sam and Presto up the Old Railroad Grade trail to West Point Inn on Mt. Tam! I seem to have stalled at a sort of not really feeling good but not actively sick level of wellness. It seemed like it would be nice to get out for a nice trail run, though, so we headed to Mt. Tam, which, while continuously uphill for a long time, is at least not very steep. This was a fantastic idea, and the first time I haven't had a headache in like 2 weeks.

Running felt hard and slow, but it was good to get out. My legs are still oddly sore, but they didn't get all shaky, so that's good. Presto was extremely excited to be out for a trail run. Also, Sam suddenly realized today that I might be low on iron, so I'm going to try increasing my iron intake and see if that improves matters. It sure would be nice to feel healthy again!
