Running 40:41 [3] 4.0 mi (10:10 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Running 18

Running with Sam and Presto on the fire trail! Sam's knee has been bothering him, but seems to be getting a bit better, so we decided to just go for a nice easy run on the flat part of the fire trail. Berkeley seems to have decided people were having too much fun on the weekends, so they made the parking lot permit only even outside of working hours, which meant we ended up starting the run sort of randomly on the side of the road.

We were taking it pretty easy, so Sam suggested I take a jaunt up the hill on one of the side trails to burn off some energy. Presto and I powered up until we got to a nice view and then zoomed back down. Nice day for a run!

Stretching 10:00 [3]

Normal stretching before my concert.

Running 28:22 [3] 3.1 mi (9:09 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Running 18

Running with Presto after lab! Only sort of made it out of lab early enough to go for a run, but I needed to get out, so out we went. Presto also clearly needed to get out. He was wagging his tail for most of the run. It's hard to stay frustrated about lab when running with a happy Presto :-).

Stretching 10:00 [3]

Too late for any strength stuff, so just stretching before bed.

Note

In lab too late to go for a run. Boo. I think (hope?) I've planned the rest of the week a bit better, though!

Sunday Apr 22 #

Running 1:18:46 [3] 8.0 mi (9:51 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Running 18

Running with Presto on the Nimitz trail! My arms were a bit sore from yesterday, but my legs were mostly fine, so I decided to head out for a run. I got a bit of a later start than I was hoping because I just needed to start a few things on the server, which inevitably took 2 hours. Sigh. By the time we got out it was quite warm for Berkeley (you know, 75). I was pretty thirsty, but mostly doing ok for the first 6 miles or so, but Presto was clearly having trouble. Every time we got to even the merest facsimile of shade, he would just stop and stand there until I sort of dragged him off. Then he'd drag a bit until he saw the next bit of shade and perk up for a few feet before stopping dead in the next patch of shade. It was...slow. I drank almost a liter of water when we got to the car. It was still really nice to get a run in while the hills are still green though!

Stretching 10:00 [3]

Normal stretching back at home.
