Running 33:23 [3] 3.5 mi (9:32 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Running 21

Running with Presto! We were planning to go on a fun trail run and then a picnic at a beach in Point Reyes today, but Sam got sick, so we stayed home. I would have gone on a fun run nearby, but I'm drowning in work and as long as we were just going to basically hang around the house, I figured I'd better spend the day making figures. I finally made it out for a run in the evening. It was hot and one of those days where it is hotter the higher up the hill (i.e., further from the Bay) you go, so there was much Presto dragging. Still good to get out!

Running 32:22 [3] 3.5 mi (9:15 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Running 21

Running with Presto after lab! The fog was in a tremendous hurry tonight, and there was a lot of it, which was kind of fun. Presto was pretty excited about going for a run. I had come home from lab and then spent a couple of hours working on figures for a paper on the couch, so I was less excited than usual to start, but once I got going it was good to not be sitting in front my computer anymore!

Running 32:00 [3] 3.5 mi (9:09 / mi)

Running with Sam and Presto after lab! Feeling pretty decent from the weekend, but this week is already shaping up to have too many hours in lab. I think the rest of the week is going to be more data analysis than benchwork, so I can maybe control my schedule a bit better. Presto is clearly recovered from the weekend already as well.

Hiking 3:30:00 [3] 8.0 mi (26:15 / mi) +600m 21:17 / mi
shoes: Saucony Peregrine

Hiking up Sierra Buttes with Sam, Carly, Jim, and Presto! We debating whether to hike up Mount Washington, which would be accessible from our campsite or Sierra Buttes, which required driving to another trailhead, but after seeing the two summits from Elwell, we decided that Sierra Buttes was going to be more awesome. We packed up camp and backpacked out from Smith Lake, and then drove over to the Sierra Buttes trailhead.

Sam and I did this hike in November of 2016, and it was WAYYYYY more crowded today. (I don't think we saw anyone in November.) The views were super awesome for a good chunk of the hike and the views from the summit did not disappoint.

After getting back down, we stopped by Packers Lake for a swim before heading back to the Bay Area. It was actually warm enough to stay in for a few minutes, which was fun. Awesome weekend!
