Running 33:14 [3] 3.5 mi (9:30 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Running 22

Easy-peasy run with Presto! I had to go into lab for a bit this morning, and after a bit of relaxing around the house, decided to get out for a run before dark. The sunset over the Golden Gate was quite nice and Presto was pretty pleased to be outside. Good to get out!

Running with Sam and Presto after lab! Chilly and damp tonight, but super good to get out. I was feeling good in both directions on the hill tonight and Presto was quite happy to be out with the entire pack. Good to get in a nice chatty run!

Running 29:56 [3] 3.1 mi (9:39 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Running 22

Running with Presto after lab! I spent a sadly large percentage of the day frantically moving everything from our broken -80C freezer to the building backup -80C freezer 2 floors down from our lab. I feel like I have presided over a distressing number of -80C freezer deaths... If anyone is in the market for a -80C freezer, I don't recommend Sanyo.

Anyway, it was good to get out for a run. Presto was also super excited to be out and about. The deer were out in force and my legs were feeling good, so it was a good night to be outside!

Green sprint at Napa Valley College with Presto! It was pretty cold this morning, but a good temperature for running! My brain took a second or so to turn on with the flagging to the first control, but I'd gotten everything in place by the time I got there, and had a clean race after that. Really fun campus to run on. Presto was a bit draggy here and there, especially running through the spectator area where the snacks were :-).

Sprint Motala at Silverado Middle School with Presto! This was a mass start. I positioned myself behind the super fast people, and was a bit surprised when they all cut into the wrong space between the buildings for the first control. I did a double take on my map, but continued on to the correct control and was one of the first ones to punch! Sadly, Presto stopped to poop just after this and everyone passed me by while I picked it up.

The rest of the course was super fun. I was on the wrong side of a fence once and didn't notice on the map where a fence switched from uncrossable to crossable, which made for one suboptimal route choice. Otherwise, it was a clean run with Presto dragging quite a bit towards the end. I noticed Sam right behind me coming into the last couple of controls and picked up the pace a bit to edge him out on at least one race! Super fun weekend!
