Running 30:00 [3] 3.1 mi (9:41 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Running 24

Running with Presto after lab! I was reminded last night of why I started running and biking so much during the more hardcore shelter-in-place of spring and early summer. It turns out being stressed and sitting in front of the computer all day without getting outside for some fun doesn't result in great sleep, so I resolved to get outside this weekend.

Sadly, I didn't get home from lab until after 8:30 and was pretty exhausted after a very full day in lab, but it's a weekend (or so I hear), so I headed out for a quick run. I felt SOOOOOO much better once I was out for a run, so this was definitely the correct move. Presto wanted his dinner, so he was not entirely on board with the run at the beginning, but once we got going he was pretty pleased to get outside. Good to get out!

Running with Presto after not-lab! Another solid day in front of the computer. Finishing up before I leave is starting to feel incredibly stressful. I may not get many (any?) weekend days until December... It was really good to get out for a run and destress for a while. Presto kept just stopping for no reason for the first 5 minutes or so, as though to stay, it's cold out here, let's go home. But once I convinced him that we were doing the normal evening loop, he seemed pretty happy to be outside. Good to get out!

Running with Presto after not-lab! My eyeballs were kind of exploding after an entire day of making figures, and some new running shoes came in the mail today, so obviously it was time for a run. The shoes felt great, and both Presto and I were feeling pretty spritely tonight - probably helped by the fact that it was cold out! Between it being a bit later than usual and the cold, we had the roads almost entirely to ourselves.

Stretching 10:00 [3]

Sam got home just as I was finishing the run, so we made pizza before I stretched.

Running 30:00 [3] 3.1 mi (9:41 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Running 23

Running with Presto after not-lab! It was kind of a long day in front of the computer, so it was good to get out to move and look at something a bit further from my face for a bit. Presto was really excited to get outside, but then seemed displeased that it was chilly. I'm not sure how to break it to him that he is going to get a bit of a shock this winter... He did great really excited when we saw a deer up near the top of the hill, so we sped up a bit on the downhill :-).

Running with Sam, Tori, Carlo, and Presto at Pleasanton Ridge Regional Park! We unwisely let Sam choose the route today, so there was much uphill, but it was still really fun. The views from the top were really nice (although they'll be amazing in a couple of months when the grass turns green), but Tori and I were kind of freezing due to windchill. We ran down the mountain bike single-track trails, which was super fun. Presto was very interested in the cows, but luckily they were only mildly interested in Presto. Super fun, chatty run, and Tori and Carlo gave us some cheesecake in the parking lot when we got back, which was pretty amazing :-)!

Stretching 10:00 [3]

Normal stretching back home, after getting rained out of our papusa picnic. Apparently it is winter!
