Biking 43:00 [3]
(injured)

Biking in place! My ankle is still bothering me more than it was before I went running (hurting when I get up in the morning, on stairs, and when changing direction). I also had to work all day today, so there was much grumbling. I finally finished working around 9pm and hopped on the bike trainer for a while. Both my mental state and my ankle improved substantially, so that was nice!

Stretching 10:00 [3]

Normal stretching.

Note
(injured)

Ugh. I take it back about my ankle improving. It is significantly worse today and a bit swollen. Not as bad as the first couple of days it started hurting, but pretty bad. Painful walking around when I got up in the morning, painful on stairs, painful when changing direction. I was working on getting the lab organized today, and I noticed it a bit just walking around on the completely smooth lab floor. Hopefully this didn't set me back too far, and I guess I A) give it longer of feeling completely normal before running and B) go for a shorter run as I start getting back into it. I feel like in general I don't really notice getting older, but it sure does take longer to recover from injuries...

Running 20:00 [3] 2.1 mi (9:31 / mi)
(injured) shoes: Brooks Running 24

Running after not-lab with Presto! My ankle has been feeling completely normal for a few days, so I decided to give running a try. I just did a couple of different loops around the neighborhood so that I'd never get very far away from home in case I did end up needing to walk home. My ankle was twinging a bit on and off, but it felt ok for most of the run. It hurt a bit at the very end, so I stopped a bit earlier than I might have otherwise stopped, but not actually that much sooner. Definitely not better yet, but maybe getting there?

Strength 5:00 [3]

Normal abs.

Stretching 10:00 [3]

Normal stretching.

Biking 43:00 [3]
(injured)

Biking in place! This has been a VERY long week, so I don't remember a ton about this not particularly interesting exercise experience. I do recall that my achilles started feeling weird almost immediately when I put my running shoes on to bike, even though my ankle had been feeling great in my walking around shoes. I switched to my walking around shoes for the rest of the biking, and it felt good, so maybe my running shoes are pinching or something?

Strength 5:00 [3]

I think it is highly likely I did my normal abs after biking because it was a week night and that's what I do.

Stretching 10:00 [3]

Normal stretching.

Biking 43:00 [3]
(injured)

Biking in place! My ankle is feeling decent today. It no longer hurts when walking around after I first wake up, so basically now I have to run or change direction suddenly for it to hurt, which seems like it is moving in the correct direction. Hopefully running will feel ok soon! The area around my achilles was feeling funny today while biking. Not the achilles itself, but the stuff to either side of the achilles. I'm thinking that whatever tendon or ligament is messed up attaches to the foot just to the side of the achilles and that's why it feels funny, but watching other people have achilles problems makes me very much not want to have achilles problems, so I stopped biking sooner than I might have otherwise.

Strength 14:00 [3]

Normal abs and glutes.

Stretching 10:00 [3]

Normal stretching.
